‘Fishpeople’ Film Screening
March 10, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm NZDT
Marine conservation starts with a shared appreciation of our connection to the ocean. Forest & Bird – Tauranga, Oceans For Generations, Motiti Rohemoana Trust and Sustainable Backyards Bay of Plenty are pleased to bring “Fishpeople” a Patagonia Film Production to the Bay of Plenty for seaweek 2019.
This film is a beautiful compilation of stories woven together by people who love the sea and spend their lives in it and protecting it. This salt water life has deep impacts on the human psyche and Fishpeople explores the phenomenon of conscious living near or at sea level.
In this exploration of the life-changing power of the ocean, six people from very different backgrounds find purpose and meaning in the sea.
Directed by: Keith Malloy
Featuring: Dave Rastovich (surfer), Matahi Drollet (surfer/fisherman), Lynne Cox (open-water swimmer), Ray Collins (photographer), Eddie Donnellan (youth worker) and Kimi Werner (spearfisher).
Forest And Bird believes in strengthening community to develop and engage with protecting our wild spaces.
