Marine Watch with DOC and Discovery through Nature

Saturday 2 March 2019, 10.30am – 12.30pm at Mudflats near Tye Park, Welcome Bay, Tauranga. Meeting Point: Tye Park, Welcome Bay, at the far end of the park on the grass, hear the sand bank
Fun for the family bring a small bucket and spade and become a marine biologist discovering what lives in the soft sediment at low tide. Take a walk into the mud with experts to find out who lives in the mud and why? How amazing mangroves really are and how many crabs live in our harbour. Discover the beauty of our estuary in Welcome Bay. Learn about the conservation issues for these unique habitats.

Specific requirements: all children under 16 years old should be accompanied by an adult. You may get muddy feet so appropriate foot wear is necessary (such as wetsuit boots or old lace up shoes), we do not recommend bare feet. Also sunhat and sunscreen.
