Volunteer Sunday

March 19 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm NZDT

Summer baiting operation: phase 2, take 2! We’re retrieving any uneaten diphacinone from the bait stations to both clear the forest of toxin and assess the uptake. Looks like Sunday’s weather will be better than Saturday, so we’re shifting the day (and putting our faith in the forecast…)

Meet 8.30am at the kohanga. Clothing and footwear should be suitable for off-track walking, plus bring gloves, any medicines you need and a full bottle of water. If you can, bring secateurs or loppers as you are likely to encounter overgrown conditions (thanks to all the rain!) and minor storm damage – it’s important you listen to the field ops briefing today before you head into the bush.

We’ll put the billy on for a hot cuppa on your return, accompanied by some home baking to put a smile on your dial.

As always, our activities in the bush are weather permitting – please check this website or our Facebook page for advice on postponements and cancellations.

We love seeing new faces, so if you’re keen to volunteer, please get in touch – make sure you check out our Get Involved page for all the details, including how to register before you come out to the forest.
