The Lake Okareka Community Association (LŌCA) is a resident and homeowner group dedicated to the welfare of the Lake Ōkāreka community, situated just a ten-minute drive from Rotorua. The association actively works to promote, conserve, and preserve the interests of the community, as well as the natural environment and physical amenities of the area. LŌCA represents the community by responding to council and government plans and undertaking projects to improve local facilities. It also plays a key role in fostering a harmonious community spirit, which is evident in the area’s volunteer Fire Brigade, Tennis Club, and various conservation groups.
